YEA Camp was founded in 2009 by Nora Kramer, who serves as the Founder and Executive Director. The camp's mission is to train aspiring activists to make a bigger difference on social justice causes. Jessa Carter, a Physician Assistant with 8 years of experience in Neurosurgery and Neurocritical care, is part of the staff. The camp is fiscally sponsored with 501(c)(3) status from Earth Island Institute.
