About
Berkeley Summer Camps offers programs that include athletics, sports, aquatics, skateboarding, dance, theater, public speaking, culinary projects, crafts, art, games, and enrichment activities. Campers take part in outdoor exploration such as hiking, shoreline exploration, nature and ecology activities, canoeing, birdwatching, fort building, and play at Adventure Playground. Some programs include swim sports for intermediate swimmers, lifeguard skills training, mini field trips, and fun activities that build social and physical skills.

• Schedule: Weekday camps with most day camps running roughly 9:00 am–3:30 pm, some half-day options, extended care for most camps, and two-week Playground Program sessions
• Price: All-Star Sports Camp: $250/week; Berkeley Day Camp: $310/week; Berkeley Day Camp Counselor-in-Training: $251/week; Frances Albrier Arts Fun Camp: $165/week; James Kenney Discovery Fun Camp: $165/week; Live Oak Adventurers Fun Camp: $165/week; Shorebird Nature STEM Camp: $310/week; Skate Camp: $195/week; Skate Camp Counselor-in-Training: $100; Summer Achievers: $0
Teens can join Counselor-in-Training programs where they support staff and younger campers, build leadership skills, and mentor youth. Summer Achievers is a $0 program for Berkeley students who live in Berkeley or attend Berkeley schools and requires a registration form. Therapeutic Recreation Discovery Camp is an inclusive camp at James Kenney for youth with special needs ages 5–12, and scholarships are available for this camp. Berkeley overnight camps in the Sierra Nevada include activities in nature, connection with community, and shared meals, and are open to youth, families, adults, and seniors, with scholarships available for overnight camps. Playground Programs use basketball courts, playgrounds, and nearby parks and may include chances to hike, swim, relax, play sports, create art, and join fun activities that build social and physical skills. Some specialty camps are offered year-round. Aquatics camps require participants to be able to swim 25 yards and float or tread water for one minute, and Skate Camp participants must bring a skateboard, helmet, skate shoes, and are recommended to bring pads. An intake is required before registration for Therapeutic Recreation Discovery Camp by calling the listed phone number, and AM/PM care is not offered for Skate Camp, Skate Camp Counselor-in-Training, Summer Achievers, or aquatics camps. The program partners with outside vendors to offer specialized camps at city locations.
