About

The Youth Aikido Program offers Aikido and martial arts training for young people. Classes take place as part of the Aiki Arts Center’s Youth Aikido Program and include vigorous, intense practice that is also full of play. Registration is open for this program, and beginners are welcome in all classes, where they receive one-on-one guidance from senior students.

• Ages: 5–17 years old

The Youth Aikido Program is part of the Aiki Arts Center, which describes itself as a friendly and supportive training community. The instructor team includes Alan Hodges Sensei, a longtime Aikido practitioner and member of the Aiki Arts Center instructor team. The leadership team at the Aiki Arts Center includes Nick Walker Sensei (Senior Instructor and co-founder), Azzia Walker Sensei (Dojo Manager), and Alan Hodges Sensei (instructor team member). The Aiki Arts Center states that martial arts training there is intended to develop practical self-defense skills and the capacity to navigate life’s challenges with greater clarity, serenity, adaptability, and grace. The dojo identifies as LGBTQ-friendly.
