Academy 8:31 offers Mini & Me Ballet Classes, Intro To Ballet, Intro To Dance, Pre Ballet, Pre Primary, Primary 1, Primary 2, Ballet 1, Ballet 2, Ballet 3, Ballet 4, and Ballet 5. The classes include creative movement, movement, musicality, motor skills, rhythm, dance class etiquette, basic ballet terms, basic dancer terms, proper placement of arms, legs, and head, barre work, center floor exercises, and across-the-floor technique. Some levels are by teacher recommendation only, and Ballet 3 may be ready for Pre-Pointe work while Ballet 4 begins working en pointe.

Programs

• Mini & Me Ballet Classes — 18 months - 5 years · Emphasis on creative movement; designed for young dancers who are still learning to be in a classroom environment.
• Intro To Ballet — 3 - 5 years · Prelude to formal dance instruction; introduces movement, musicality, motor skills, rhythm, dance class etiquette, and basic ballet terms.
• Intro To Dance — 3 - 5 years · Prelude to formal dance instruction; introduces movement, musicality, motor skills, rhythm, dance class etiquette, and basic dancer terms.
• Pre Ballet — 5 - 6 years · Technique-based lessons with proper placement of arms, legs, and head, plus center floor exercises.
• Pre Primary — 6 - 7 years · Strengthens proper execution of ballet with more focus on placement and center floor exercises.
• Primary 1 — 7 - 8 years · By teacher recommendation only; students progress to working at the barre and more complex technique exercises.
• Primary 2 (75 minutes) — 7 - 8 years · By teacher recommendation only; refines skills at the barre and more complex technique exercises.
• Ballet 1 — 8 and up · For students wanting a basic understanding of ballet technique; previous dance experience is not required.
• Ballet 2 (75 minutes) — 8 and up · By teacher recommendation only; works on more complex barre, center, and across the floor techniques.
• Ballet 3 (75 minutes) — 10 and up · By teacher recommendation only; may be ready for Pre-Pointe work and more advanced levels.
• Ballet 4 (75 minutes) — 10 and up · By teacher recommendation only; begins working en pointe.
• Ballet 5 (75 minutes) — 11 and up · By teacher recommendation only.
