JW Basketball Academy is led by founder Jason Wright, a former professional basketball player, educator, global development coach, national speaker, motivational coach, and certified youth mentor who has led the academy for over 20 years. Jason Wright has over two decades of experience training athletes, more than 30 years of experience from Brixton to NCAA and international pro leagues, has coached and delivered player development programs in more than 60 countries, and has trained more than 3,000 athletes from young beginners to elite professionals across youth, high school, college, and professional levels. The coaching staff also includes Coach Chirag Modha, Coach Nick, Coach Jose, Coach Antione Smith, and Coach Justin, all of whom have playing and coaching backgrounds at high school, college, professional, and international levels, with multiple coaches having 5–15 years of experience developing youth-to-pro athletes with JW Basketball.

The academy’s mission is to develop complete basketball players through elite skill training, build consistency, discipline, and strong habits, and create an environment where athletes enjoy the process of improvement. Its vision is to shape confident athletes who believe in their ability, develop players who understand the game and not just drills, and build a long-term pathway for personal and athletic growth. The program’s stated values are discipline in training and preparation, consistency over short-term motivation, mastery of fundamentals, a growth mindset in every session, and respect for coaches, teammates, and the game, and it is described as taking a holistic approach that blends elite skill development with character, confidence, and leadership.

Families are advised that players should bring a basketball, plenty of water, snacks, athletic clothing, and both basketball and running shoes. The academy also offers an online community with exclusive Basketball IQ videos and describes its Elite Player online community as the “#1 at-home player development tool.” Testimonials describe the program as “Most Comprehensive Program!”, note that “I come to learn the passion and intensity,” and say about Jason Wright that “He’s a Great Great Teacher!” and “He’s preparing these kids for the future!”
