About

The Burbank Parent Education Program includes playtime, storytime, singalongs, arts and crafts, free play, dress up, puzzles, stories, singing, dancing, and snack time. During snack time, children practice skills such as pouring water and using table manners.

• Ages: 0–13 years old
• Schedule: Classes are available every day of the week, and each class meets once a week.

The program’s mission states that the school offers parenting resources that provide parents with knowledge and skills for navigating early childhood, with a philosophy that children learn through play and adults learn tools for raising self-reliant, responsible, and kind children. Classes are for parents, grandparents, and other caregivers, and in many classes the adults are the students while their children 0–4 years old attend with them. In these classes, adults move to an adjoining classroom for discussions on parenting topics led by the teacher, including many discussions aimed at increasing understanding of the U.S. school system. English Language Learners are welcome in all Parent Education classes, and there are classes for parents with elementary-aged and middle school-aged children that are only for adults to attend.

The Burbank Parent Education Council is composed of all enrolled parents, and in May a board is elected to serve through the following school year beginning in August. This board supports the program by serving as a channel of communication between class members, teachers, administrators, and the community. The website for the program is sponsored by the Burbank Parent Education Council to help users learn more about the program. The program lists years of operation as © 2019–2025 Burbank Parent Education Program.
