Burbank Parent Education Program

The Burbank Parent Education Program offers classes for parents, grandparents, and other caregivers. The classes include free play, discussions, circle time, snack time, and goodbyes, and adults are the students.

• Classes for parents, grandparents and other caregivers — 0-4 years old children attend with adults; classes for parents with elementary aged children and middle school aged children are only for adults to attend · Each class meets once a week; classes are available every day of the week · Adults are the students. About the provider

The program says, "Our philosophy is that children learn through play and adults learn the tools for raising self-reliant, responsible and kind children." The Burbank Parent Education Council is composed of all the enrolled parents, and a board is elected in May to serve through the following school year beginning in August.

Adults move to adjoining classroom for discussions on parenting topics led by the teacher. Free play may be inside or out and may also include time for art projects. Circle time may include singing, dancing, stories and more. Snack time includes learning independent skills and social skills. Classes for parents with elementary aged children and middle school aged children are only for adults to attend.
