Music Junction Private Music Lessons was founded by Charissa and Bob, and Charissa’s background includes growing up with a mother who taught 60 music students each week in their living room and teaching private music lessons herself for over a decade. Their stated mission is that Charissa and Bob are committed to spreading a love for music with everyone they meet. The school created free 30-minute vocal warmup sing-along videos during the pandemic and offers four yearly recitals and other special events for singing students, as well as a yearly singing contest called Burbank Singing Star with sponsorship from Radio Disney.
The program is involved in local school choir programs at Emerson Elementary in Burbank, Girl Scouts programs in Greater L.A., and Rock Star Music Programs at Mark Keppel Elementary in Glendale. Music Junction Private Music Lessons is the creator of the Burbank Singing Star charity concert benefiting Burbank Unified School District, which is described as a kids’ singing contest and showcase with celebrity judges and prizes, and they partner with Radio Disney and the Kiwanis Club of Burbank for this event. One parent, Jen P., describes The Music Junction as “the perfect place to take piano lessons,” notes that the teacher Anahit keeps her five-year-old son excited and encouraged about playing, and comments on the fun and engaging method, organized scheduling, quality instruments, and smoothly run recital.
