Burbank Youth League is a youth basketball program that offers practices, training, and games for boys and girls. The program runs a complete basketball schedule that includes two sessions per week, with one practice and one game each week, and games held every weekend. All activities are focused on basketball.
• Ages: 5–13 years old
• Schedule: 5 seasons each year, each season lasting 8 weeks, with 2 sessions per week (1 practice and 1 game) and games every weekend
• Price: Seasons Fee $280 for Entire Season.
Age groups meet at set times: ages 5–7 meet Monday 4–5 pm and Friday 4–5 pm; ages 8–9 meet Monday 5–6 pm and Friday 5–6 pm; ages 10–11 meet Wednesday 4–5 pm and Saturday 2–3 pm; ages 12–13 meet Wednesday 5–6 pm and Saturday 3–4 pm. The program includes Jr. NBA Clippers uniforms, trophies, awards, and gifts. Burbank Youth League states that all skill levels are welcome and that passion for fun is the only skill needed. The mission statement is “Making Sports Fun Again,” with a focus on developing player skills while enjoying the game.
The program is led by Managing Director and Program Director Coach Mike Balian. His background includes work as an NBA Skill Development Coach, Former Head Coach of the Boys Varsity Basketball Program at Oakwood High School, Director of Basketball Operations at Burbank Youth Center, and Founder and Head Coach of the LA PRODIGY Basketball Travel Team. His experience also includes serving as 2016–2017 Head Coach at Campbell Hall for 8th Grade Boys, working as an LA Clippers Community Relations Intern from 2008–2009, and holding certification as a high school referee with 10 years of officiating experience. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology – Physical Education from California State University Northridge, played on the Glendale College Basketball Team from 2011–2013, and was selected to represent Glendale in the 2011 and 2015 Pan Armenian Games, earning a bronze medal. Burbank Youth League is a proud partner of the Jr. Clippers program.
