LEAF Early Development offers activities where children learn social communication, practice cooperation, and build friendships through engaging with their peers. The program includes social skills and social emotional development activities, as well as art led by an art therapist who integrates creative and therapeutic techniques into teaching methods. The program focuses on children with unique learning needs and diverse disabilities, including support for children with ASD, speech and language impairments, ADHD, developmental disorders, genetic disorders, and Specific Learning Disability and ADD/ADHD.

The founders of LEAF Early Development are credentialed early intervention specialists with a combined 18 years of experience working with young children and their families. Megan Stires is an early intervention specialist who earned her ECSE credential and has 18 years of experience in the early childhood field. Sally Calderon, M.A., is an early intervention specialist with a Master of Arts degree in Special Education with an emphasis in Applied Behavior Analysis. Preny Setaghaian, M.A., is an early intervention specialist and art therapist with a Credential and Master’s degree in Early Childhood Special Education. Anastasiia Berezhnyi is a Social Skills Facilitator who is pursuing a Master’s degree in Early Childhood and Early Childhood Special Education. The program’s mission states that the team has been dedicated to providing quality learning opportunities for children with unique learning needs, using a unique approach to social emotional development that combines evidence based practices and peer engagement. In the community, Megan is a long-time Burbank resident, Preny has worked in a Preschool Special Education setting and at Burbank Unified School District, and Anastasiia volunteers with organizations that support early intervention and inclusion.
