About
Peninsula Girls Chorus includes auditions, vocal training, musicianship instruction, and concerts. Singers take part in local performances as well as global performances. The program includes more than 250 singers.
• Ages: 6–18 years old
Founded in 1994, Peninsula Girls Chorus has been active for over 30 years. It serves girls ages 6–18 from across the San Francisco Bay Area and represents over 90 area schools and more than 20 Bay Area cities. The award-winning Peninsula Girls Chorus lists its mission as transforming the lives of young women through the power of choral music. Girls who wish to participate must complete an audition with Artistic Director Karyn M. Silva, and the audition process is described as enjoyable and educational, with a focus on a love of singing, musicality, and focus.
The leadership team includes Artistic Director Karyn M. Silva, Director of Educational Programs Kate Roseman, Chorus Manager Diana Walsh, Development Director Kelly Ground, and Accounting staff member Monica Sayat-Garcia. The program highlights joyful music-making, a nurturing teaching environment, top-notch vocal training, musicianship instruction, and both local and global performances. One alumna states, “The vocal education I received with PGC is unparalleled.”
