A ministry of The Salvation Army, Lawrence M. Daley Camp and Conference Center has been providing life changing Christian summer camp experiences for up to 2000 children since 1939. The Salvation Army is an evangelical part of the universal Christian Church, with a message based on the Bible and a ministry motivated by the love of God, and its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ as it meets human needs in His name without discrimination. Every program offered is rooted in a stated passion to serve God by serving the lost, the vulnerable, the needy, the poor, the hurting, the helpless, and the hopeless. The camp has been serving campers from under-served areas of Los Angeles since 1939, and summer camps are described as a primary way The Salvation Army connects to youth and young adults from around the world. The camp states that it provides a fun, safe and Christ centered environment where campers experience God's creation in a place they feel safe and loved, and that staff are able to grow in their faith and Christian community while investing in the lives of the campers. Camp staff will constantly watch for any medical or health concerns and will not require any camper to do something that would be harmful for them.
The leadership team includes a Camp Director ([email protected]), an Assistant Camp Director ([email protected]), a Guest Services Manager ([email protected]), and a Program Manager ([email protected]).
