Maki Swim School offers private, semi-private, and group swim lessons, as well as Recreation Swim, birthday parties, pool rental, corporate fitness, and youth and teen fitness training. The program uses a Montessori educational approach with an emphasis on independence, freedom with limits, and respect for children's natural development. Instruction takes place in the Apricot Pool, which is a year-round, enclosed, heated pool with shallow water ranging from 3 to 4 feet and a climate-controlled enclosure that protects against weather and harmful UV rays.
• Ages: 0–18 years old
• Schedule: Open 7 days a week with office hours from 9am–6pm and pool hours from 9am–9pm, including Recreation Swim every Saturday and Sunday from 3–4pm and ongoing year-round registration with a custom schedule where families choose their times
• Price: Member prices are $5 per person for Recreation Swim, with a one-time $50 registration fee per family to become a member
Maki Swim School teaches all ages, from infants to adults, and offers ongoing year-round registration. For Recreation Swim, families are asked to call or email with the number of people attending. The program is led by Maggie Eyerman and Corrina Jennings.
The stated goal of Maki Swim School is to enable every swimmer, at their own pace, the opportunity to learn an invaluable lifetime skill in a positive learning environment. The program is involved in the community as a member of the USA Swimming Foundation “Make a Splash Program” and as a National Drowning Prevention Alliance Affiliate.
Staff and leadership credentials and awards include National Recreation and Park Association Aquatic Facility Operator Certification (2011–2016), recognition as “Outstanding Swim Teacher of the Year,” membership in the National Swim School Association and United States Swim School Association, Junior Olympic Swimming Qualifier, Certified Recreational Therapist, membership in The American Swimming Coaches Association, and past service as Aquatic Director at Silver Creek Country Club. Additional recognition includes being named 1996 Businesswoman of the Year for the Northern California Campbell Chapter.
