The Campbell school teaches the West Coast World Martial Arts System, which is described as a practical mix of martial arts from around the world and begins with Taekwondo as the foundation. The curriculum is described as a solid, well-rounded system of self-defense that enables students to adapt to any style of martial art. Adults and teens martial arts classes are described as a comprehensive course of multiple styles of martial arts, and instructors provide insight and guidance to assist students on their path toward black belt mastery. The Campbell location was the first school of the West Coast World Martial Arts association, is referred to as a flagship and headquarters school, and is the place where the first black belts under Master Ernie Reyes started and where he developed seven national champions. The program incorporates kids night to show students a balance of work and fun, and brings together people from all walks of life.

Great Grandmaster Ernie Reyes and Great Grandmaster Tony Thompson are both certified black belts under World Taekwondo, as are all senior black belt instructors. KJN Margie Reyes, the Campbell school owner, has been training in martial arts for 46 years, was one of the first black belts under Great Grandmaster Ernie, and was a nationally ranked forms competitor in the 1980s. KJN Daniel Isozaki has been training for 20 years, is one of the head instructors at the Campbell headquarters school, serves as Co-Captain of the West Coast World Action Demo Team, and trains regularly with Great Grandmaster Ernie Reyes. KJN Joao Santana has been training in martial arts since 1994, has trained with West Coast World Martial Arts since 2003, has been a member of the West Coast World Action Demo Team since 2005, and serves as a master instructor at the headquarters. All instructors are described as having years of experience in martial arts, and the team is described as committed to giving students the training and attention needed to achieve black belt excellence.

The purpose of West Coast World Martial Arts is stated as empowering students to develop themselves physically, mentally, and spiritually and to establish extraordinary character, with teaching based on the values of honor, loyalty, family, and bravery. Great Grandmaster Ernie Reyes’ achievements include California State Tae Kwon Do Grand Champion at UC Berkeley in fighting, USA National Tae Kwon Do Champion in fighting and forms, bronze medalist at the 3rd World Tae Kwon Do Championships in fighting, ranking in the top 10 in open forms competition in the USA, and California State Lightweight Champion in open tournament point fighting. He was the creative and coaching force behind the West Coast World Action Team, which Bushido Magazine in Europe recognized as the “#1 Martial Arts Demo Team in the World,” and in one year he produced seven black belt national champions from this team, all certified World Taekwondo Federation black belts. He coached his son, national champion Ernie Reyes Jr., who became the youngest child in martial arts history to compete and win in the adult professional forms division. Great Grandmaster Reyes has received Lifetime Achievement awards from every major martial arts association in the United States, has been featured in every national karate magazine in the world, was inducted into the Black Belt Hall of Fame as Instructor of the Year, was honored as Instructor of the Year by the Professional Karate Association, and was recognized as one of the greatest masters of the 20th century on “Masters of the Martial Arts” on national television by TNT.

Parent and student testimonials describe the Campbell school as the best place to send children or train as an adult, with large facilities and staff that make mixed martial arts fun and safe, and one student notes being a third degree black belt after 12 years of training there. One parent reports that their daughter has been training there for years and is working on her second degree black belt with instructor Daniel, including from a previous facility on Union Ave in San Jose. Another parent describes instructors KJN Daniel, Joao, and Donald as friendly, approachable, and knowledgeable, and mentions that their son became a black belt after starting with Ernie Reyes about five years earlier and later transferring to the Campbell location. A student describes starting as a white belt and progressing to black belt after many years of hard work, being greeted warmly on the first visit, becoming part of a family, and being constantly motivated by peers to keep pushing forward.
