Bancroft Ranch Riding Lessons offers private and semi-private riding lessons, pony rides, trail rides, basic riding instruction, and horsemanship skills. Youth can take a half-hour beginner riding lesson, a private 45-minute youth lesson, a private one-hour youth lesson, or a shared hour lesson. Adult riders can take a one-hour lesson, either private or shared, and trail rides are available by appointment for approximately one hour.
• Ages: 4–18 years old
• Schedule: Half-hour, 45-minute, and one-hour youth lessons; one-hour adult lessons; approximately one-hour trail rides by appointment
• Price: Youth riding lessons: $50 for a half-hour youth beginner riding lesson, lead line lesson or pony ride; $75 for a private 45 min youth lesson; $90 for a private one hour youth lesson; $75 per youth for a shared hour lesson (current students only). Adult riding lessons: $90 per person for a one hour lesson (private or shared). Trail rides (by appointment only): $125 per person for an approximately one hour trail ride. Regular care boarding: $650. Retirement or hard-keeper care boarding: $650 (plus cost of supplemental feeds). Short-term boarding: $35 per day. Seasonal blanketing for regular care: $2 per time. Wet supplements add $30/month.
The program offers basic riding instruction for all ages along with horsemanship skills and perspectives. Instruction is tailored to each person’s experience, ability level, and confidence, with individual attention and an emphasis on safety, confidence, and fun. The Bancroft Ranch uses a variety of gentle and wise lesson horses and ponies and operates as a full-service boarding facility with standard feeding that includes high quality timothy, grass or grass/alfalfa hay, feeding of any dry supplements provided by the client, fresh water, and trace mineral salt blocks, with wet supplements available for an added monthly fee. The facility includes safe and comfortable paddocks with 12×12 shelters and rubber floors, a 100×200 all-weather arena, a 45-foot round corral, safe and sturdy hitching posts, individual tack closets, a wash rack, access to private trails, and paddocks with no winter mud.
