About

Monterey Peninsula Ballet Theatre focuses on dance education through training and performances such as The Nutcracker 2026. Dancers train and perform in a professional environment and also work with costumes, props, and staging as part of the behind-the-scenes theatre experience.

• Schedule: The Nutcracker 2026 is Dec 11th, 12th, and 13th

Monterey Peninsula Ballet Theatre’s mission is “Fostering the passion and development of local youth through the performing arts, where talents and life skills may grow in an inspiring and nurturing environment.” The organization partners with schools, youth programs, and community organizations to bring dance education, mentorship, and performances to children who may not otherwise have access. Dancers perform at local schools, senior living communities, and civic events. The program offers financial aid opportunities to ensure that participation in programs is never limited by circumstance and is committed to supporting the emotional, physical, and artistic growth of all children, aiming to be a beacon of stability and inspiration for families in the community.

“The discipline, perseverance, and artistry instilled in me during my time at Monterey Peninsula Ballet Theater have helped me grow into the person I am today. Being a part of the organization has taught me the value of hard work, the importance of teamwork, and the transformative power of expressing oneself through movement. MPBT’s impact on my life extends far beyond the dance studio, it has taught me invaluable life lessons and provided a foundation that has allowed me to be confident in myself and my abilities in both my personal and professional life. I am truly grateful for the experiences I have gained at MPBT and wish that all dancers are able to have a similar experience in their dance education.” - Natalie Lobo, 2017 Sugar Plum Fairy

“Monterey Peninsula Ballet Theatre has had a profound impact on my life, shaping me both artistically and personally. As I step into my senior year at UCSB as dance major, I know that I would not be where I am today without the perseverance and adaptability that MPBT instilled in me; for this I have a deep sense of gratitude. I will forever cherish the unforgettable memories and the unyielding support system that is MPBT!” - Grace Lino, 2018 Sugar Plum Fairy
