Carpinteria AYSO Region 683 Youth Soccer Programs offers youth soccer programs that include age appropriate soccer programs and an All Star Program. The program includes specific divisions such as the U5 Program, U6 Program, U8 Program, U10 Program, U12 Program, and U14 Program.
• Ages: 4–18 years old
• Schedule: Players ages 4 to 18 participate in age appropriate soccer programs in the fall, with additional competitive opportunities at the U10, U12, and U14 levels from December to June.
The mission of Carpinteria AYSO Region 683 Youth Soccer Programs is to develop and deliver quality youth soccer programs, which promote a fun, family environment based on the six AYSO Philosophies. The region registers approximately 500 children annually and develops and delivers its programs through dedicated volunteers, with continued success depending on every player's family contributing to the programs. All coaches are certified and trained through the American Youth Soccer Organization's National Coaching Program. The program follows AYSO principles including Everyone Plays, Balanced Teams, Open Registration, Positive Coaching, Good Sportsmanship, and Player Development. Carpinteria AYSO Region 683 serves the communities of Carpinteria, Summerland, Montecito and La Conchita. Michael Karon, President of AYSO, was recently recognized by Stack Sports for his impact in the world of sports volunteering.
The leadership team includes Dave Howells (AYSO Area 10W Director and Tournament Teams Director), Denise Howells (Tournament Teams Treasurer), and Dan Runhaar (Regional Commissioner, Registrar, and Secretary). Additional roles include Carly Bass (Assistant Referee Administrator and All Star Program Coordinator), Marisa Kahn (Child Volunteer and Protection and Safety Director), Britt Warner (Treasurer), Kyla Rightmer (Team Administrator), Angelina Lane (Coach Administrator U10/12/14/16), Magnus Palm (Coach Administrator U6-U8), Liston Foster (Referee Administrator), Tania Arroyo (Schoolyard Coordinator), Elissa Christensen (Uniform Coordinator), and Erica Holtgrewe (Picture Day Coordinator).
