IMB Academy Kids Classes introduce children to a range of martial arts, including Boxing, Muay Thai, Grappling/Jiu Jitsu, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Judo, Wrestling, Eskrima and Filipino Martial Arts, Jeet Kune Do, and MMA. In kids classes, students are exposed to all of the ranges in the IMB Curriculum, including grappling, trapping, boxing, kicking, weapons, and basic self defense. The emphasis in kids classes is placed on safety, practicality, and skill, and no gear is required to start.

Serving the South Bay since 1974, the International Martial Arts and Boxing Academy has served the Southern California martial arts community for over 40 years. The academy follows a non-traditional approach to martial arts with an emphasis on application, fitness, and individual adaptation, and martially it seeks to be as efficient, simple, and direct as possible. Students are encouraged to seek what is personally functional, and the goal is not to perfectly mimic an instructor, fighter, or founder.
The IMB Academy states that its mission is to provide students with efficient, effective, and updated training methods to foster individual growth while maintaining traditions of respect, discipline, and confidence. The academy strives to ensure its facility and training are as safe and practical as they can be while still promoting effective techniques. Many instructors have trained with the academy since their teenage or pre-teen years, and the gym heavily emphasizes an ohana spirit and family-oriented mentality.
The IMB Academy has served the Southern California martial arts community and has played a role in the personal growth and professional development of thousands of students locally and worldwide. They regularly host picnics, barbecues, parties, and other events to foster a tight-knit community and familial spirit. Parents are very welcome to supervise classes, and students waiting for class are free to use the lounge to study, do homework, or relax.
