Castro Valley Performing Arts

Castro Valley Performing Arts offers in-person classes in Ballet, Hip Hop, Tap, Tumbling, Jazz, Contemporary, Lyrical, Turns and Leaps, Stretch and Conditioning, Zumba, Latin Jazz, Cheerleading, Musical Theater, and an Adult Introduction to Dance, as well as Infant/Toddler classes. The program also offers group, private, and semi-private classes, boys’ classes, and themed summer dance and tumbling camps such as K-pop Warrior, Ohana, Enchanted Kingdom, Tumbling Camp, and Cheerleading Summer Dance Camp.

• Ages: 0–18 years old
• Schedule: All classes are offered in person, with options on weekdays and Saturdays such as Teen/Senior Ballet V on Mondays from 4:15 pm to 5:10 pm, Child Ballet IB on Mondays from 4:30 pm to 5:25 pm, Toddler Ballet on Tuesdays from 3:30 pm to 4:15 pm, Adult Ballet (Silver Swans) age 45+ on Wednesdays from 11:30 am to 12:25 pm, Toddler Ballet on Thursdays from 11:30 am to 12:15 pm, and Teen Ballet III on Saturdays from 9:00 am to 9:55 am.

Castro Valley Performing Arts states that it is a family-oriented school that provides quality dance training in a positive, nurturing and enthusiastic environment. According to its mission statement, the program aims to teach teamwork, responsibility, respect and time management through classes, performances and unique experiences, and it states that it has a spot for students who want to have fun, enrich themselves, keep physically fit, or pursue a career in the arts. The program’s stated goal is to provide professional, high-quality training at every individual level and to develop a love for the arts, with a teaching philosophy that stresses politeness, consideration and respect, and encourages students to step out of their comfort zone and explore creativity in a healthy, nurturing classroom setting. The program states that its curriculum, costuming and music choices are always age appropriate and that it is dedicated to providing a rewarding dance experience for both new and experienced dancers, based on its belief that there is a dancer in everyone. Studios are equipped with professional grade air filtration systems and contactless bathroom fixtures. CVPA students participate in dance recitals, community shows, master classes and charity events.
