Shakespeare Summer Camp centers on a Shakespeare Summer Camp performance. The program takes place in a setting that uses a “black box” environment with 45 seats, which is referred to as the South Stage at The Elite Theatre Company. The South Stage is used by The Elite Theatre Company to present “irregular” content without displacing productions from the Main Stage.
The Elite Theatre Company has been entertaining, educating and enriching its audience since 1994. The Elite Theatre Company brings together local talents of amateurs and professionals who share a passion for theatre and who volunteer their time on the stage and behind the scenes. The Elite Theatre Company hosts free staged readings where local playwrights preview their works for audiences who provide feedback, and it gives playwrights the opportunity to have their unpublished plays produced on the South Stage. The Elite Theatre Company is an active member of the community and is a proud member of the Four Star Theatre Awards Committee and the alliance of Ventura County Theatres.
