Guerreros Judo offers judo classes for kids, teens, and adults. The program includes judo training for children and adults in a structured class setting.
• Ages: 4–18 years old
Guerreros Judo is led by founding sensei Frank Sanchez Sr. The instructors bring a combined 50+ years of experience on the mat, and the club is volunteer-driven with volunteer coaches who have decades of experience. The program uses an age-based class structure with groups for ages 4–6, 7–10, and 11–adult, and offers a supportive path for both recreational and competitive athletes, including athletes who have competed internationally for Team USA Judo. Guerreros Judo offers a free first class for beginners and a free 1-week trial, and it runs as a long-standing, community-rooted club supported by a team of volunteer senseis and parent volunteers.
Guerreros Judo operates under the Guerreros Athletic Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering students and their families through the art and discipline of judo. Its mission states that it builds strength, character, and confidence in every student, teaching them to respect everyone and fear no one, and that through judo it fosters resilience, humility, leadership, strong character, mental and physical wellness, and a lifelong commitment to personal growth and community service. Guerreros Judo has been active in the community for over five decades and has produced students who thrive both in life and in competition. The program’s team earned major national titles, including 2023 Junior Olympics National Champions at the USA Judo Junior Olympics National Championships, with multiple champions on the podium.
