Cloverdale Youth Soccer League offers recreational soccer and competitive soccer for youth in the Cloverdale area. The program includes both boys’ and girls’ teams, with each team having a roster of six to eighteen players. U6 and U8 teams play all of their games in Cloverdale, while older teams play games in Cloverdale, Healdsburg, and Windsor.
• Ages: 5–15 years old
• Schedule: Registration opens in May with an early bird discount, standard registration begins June 1, registration closes in July, teams are built and uniforms are ordered in mid-July, practices begin in August, games begin in September, and the season ends in late October.
The league is a non-profit run by volunteer coaches and board members. Teams are divided into boys’ and girls’ teams in six age groups: Under 6 (U6), 6–7 (U8), 8–9 (U10), 10–11 (U12), 12–13 (U14), and 14–15 (U16). The stated purpose of Cloverdale Youth Soccer League is to develop, promote, and administer the game of soccer for boys and girls under 19 years of age in the Cloverdale area. CYSL encourages the development of the fundamental skills of soccer and the spirit of team play, and encourages coaches to attend seminars and clinics to aid them in their instruction of the players. Safety, sportsmanship, and enjoyment of the game are stressed by coaches and representatives of the league. The CYSL board is described as an impartial group that sets and administers policy and handles disputes and problems stemming from Cloverdale Youth Soccer League play. The league also invites families to visit Swagecito Soccer at Furber Plaza and to find them at Friday Night Live as part of its community involvement.
