FUNKMODE offers dance classes and activities that include Hip Hop, Jazz, Cardio Dance, Fierce Femme, Twerk, Hip Hop and Breakdance, Jazz/Contemporary, Heels, Hip Hop+, and the youth performance company miniMODE. The program also offers private lessons, after school programs, birthday parties with a one-hour class that includes games, activities, and a choreographed dance to a song of the family’s choice, as well as special events and studio space rentals.

FUNKMODE’s mission is to surround its community in a circle of “ALL LOVE” as it unites through music and movement. The program has offered dance under the FUNKMODE name since 2003, launched its website in 2004, began classes in 2006, created the youth company miniMODE in 2007, and opened FUNKMODE Studios in 2016, with 10-, 15-, and 20-year anniversaries marked in 2014, 2019, and 2024. FUNKMODE partners with many local schools to bring its “Best of the East Bay” Hip Hop and Breakdance classes to hundreds of kids as an after school enrichment activity, and it maintains a social media presence on Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, and Spotify under @FUNKMODE. The leadership team includes CARA, MIGHTY, ANGEL, TJ, JESS, KYLA, OTTO, JAVEED, and ARYA, whose backgrounds include formal dance degrees, competitive dance experience, teaching experience across multiple styles, and work with Hip Hop companies and productions such as MTV and the Bay Area premiere of “High School Musical.”
