Bunasawa Kai Judo offers classes in Judo, Jiu jitsu, MMA, and Self-Defense. The program includes a Junior Judo Class, a Senior Judo Class, and a Jukkendo Class. Bunasawa kai dojo is described as a friendly environment that is open to all age groups.
• Ages: 5–18 years old
The Junior Judo Class is for beginners and intermediate students ages 5–15 years old. The Senior Judo Class is for beginners and intermediate students ages 16 years and up. The Jukkendo Class is open to all ages and levels.
Bunasawa-Kai Judo/Jiu jitsu/MMA/Self-Defense organization was founded in 1972. The organization was founded by Nori Bunasawa, 9th-dan and founder of Jukkendo. Sensei Bunasawa is a former all Japan weight limit judo champion and was the 1975 U.S. world team coach, with over 45 years of teaching experience. Sensei Bunasawa is a Kodokan judo 9th-dan and is described as the youngest grandmaster in California. He studied at Waseda University in Japan under Yoshimi Osawa, Kodokan 10th-dan, Masahiko Kimura, and Kenji Tomiki, founder of Tomiki-Aikido. Sensei Bunasawa is also the founder of Jukkendo, Maeda style Judo/Jiu Jitsu/MMA.
The program states its mission as: “Our mission is to educate, transform and develop successful judokas in and out of the dojo.”
