Mar Vista Gardens Club Day Camp offers homework help, STEM courses, arts, dance, athletics, and nutrition activities. The program also includes leadership and community service activities, Keystone Club, Leaders in Training (LIT), and a Step Team. Participants take part in career exposure and readiness activities, visit a Science Center, and go on a field trip to a water recycling facility.

During the school year, the program runs Monday through Friday from school release until 7 p.m. Summer program hours are Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. During the 2025–26 school year, the Day Camp is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on September 23, October 2, November 11, December 22, and March 30 through April 3 for Spring Break.
The program is home to an exclusive teen space that offers a place for teens to socialize, do homework, work on college applications, read, play games, and relax. All members receive healthy snacks or meals daily, and free transportation is provided from Stoner and Braddock Elementary and Venice High School. Targeted programming for teens includes Keystone Club and Leaders in Training (LIT), which are leadership clubs that focus on academic success, career preparation, and community service. The Step Team based at the Club is known throughout the community and has performed at multiple venues, including flying to Chicago to perform at a Boys & Girls Clubs of America conference.
The Club was founded in 2013 thanks to the generosity of Jack and Cindy Jones. The mission states that the Club aims to enable all young people, especially those who need it most, and that its vision for youth is that they develop healthy physical and emotional habits, succeed in their chosen educational and career pathways, achieve self-efficacy and confidence, and become leaders in their communities. The program partners closely with the Housing Authority of the County of Los Angeles to create opportunities for kids to thrive.
The staff is described as a trained team that encourages kids to find their passion and helps them connect their interests to meaningful higher education and career pathways. Boys & Girls Clubs of Santa Monica impacts over 4,000 local kids each year, and its expert team provides programming at 11 locations across West Los Angeles, with a Club available for every kid from 1st grade through high school graduation. One Club member, Kashmere (age 9), says, “It’s a big community for kids.” Another Club kid, Marlynn, says, “You should join the Club because its a great way to find new things that you like and meet people that can really make an impact on your life!”
