About
Hope Summer Day Camp includes daily worship, Kids’ Discipleship Groups (KDG), math, lunch, recess, afternoon activities, and field trips. Weekly field trips may include destinations such as Happy Hollows, Oakland Zoo, Six Flags, and Great America, and lunch is included as part of tuition. Parent chaperones are welcome on field trips and must purchase their own admission tickets at the venue, and on field trip days campers typically depart at 9:30 AM and return before the end of camp.

• Schedule: June 15 – July 17, 2026, with camp hours from 8:45 AM – 4:15 PM; Morning Care available 7:30–8:45 AM and After Care available 4:15–5:00 PM or 4:15–6:00 PM; no camp on Friday, July 3, and camp held on Friday, June 19
• Price: Students entering 1st–5th grade: $150 non-refundable registration fee (check dated April 13, 2026) and $1,350 tuition (check dated May 1, 2026); students entering 6th–7th grade: $150 non-refundable registration fee (check dated April 13, 2026) and $1,800 tuition (check dated May 1, 2026); Hope Lutheran Church member tuition is $1,215 for 1st–5th grade and $1,620 for 6th–7th grade; Morning Care is $40/week or $8/day; After Care 4:15–5:00 PM is $45/week or $9/day; After Care 4:15–6:00 PM is $75/week or $15/day; after 6:00 PM, an additional $1 per minute is charged
Hope Summer Day Camp is a faith-based summer day camp ministry of Hope Lutheran Church & School and functions in many ways like Vacation Bible School (VBS). It is for children entering 1st–7th grade in Fall 2026 and does not accept children who are TK or younger in Fall 2026. An Away Camp for incoming 6th–7th graders runs June 29 – July 2, 2026, at Redwood Alliance Conference Grounds. Extended Care is billed at a flat rate, and if a child attends Extended Care at any point during the day, the full daily rate applies. Registration priority is given to Hope Lutheran Church members, DOVE After School attendees, and children of Hope church or preschool staff, and priority enrollment for returning SDC campers is first-come, first-served and previous enrollment does not guarantee a spot. Financial assistance is available through a Financial Assistance Form submitted with the application. A Closing Ceremony & Carnival is scheduled for Saturday, July 18, 2026.
The mission and purpose statement for Hope Summer Day Camp is for all children to know and experience God's love through worship and God's Word, build long-lasting relationships, and create memorable experiences, and to empower youth in faith and leadership to know, experience, and live in God's love. Its mission statement is “Helping Other People Enter the Kingdom of God through faith in Jesus Christ.” The leadership team includes Pastor Corey, Associate Pastor; Pastor Woo, Senior Pastor; and Fai Chan, Deacon. Hope Lutheran Church & School is a member of the Lutheran Church–Missouri Synod (LCMS), a Christian denomination of over 6000 churches in the United States. Hope congregation has reached out to the community by starting a Chinese ministry, which resulted in a Chinese language school and an afterschool tutorial program. The church’s history includes a Sunday School organized on November 4, 1948, a Christian worship service beginning in August 1949, the renaming to Hope Lutheran Church in April 1951, the purchase of a two and a half acre site in September 1953, groundbreaking for the new church on March 27, 1955, dedication of the church on April 8, 1956, dedication of the Parish Hall on February 8, 1970, the opening of Hope Lutheran Day School in 1986, and the start of Hope Elementary School in September 1998.
