Village Nursery School Cooperative

Village Nursery School Cooperative offers a play-based preschool and child-centered program. It also offers pre-K instruction for children in the year before they enter kindergarten or transitional kindergarten. The preschool schedule includes half-day and full-day options, with early drop-off beginning at 8:00 a.m. and enrollment for 3, 4, or 5 days a week.

About the provider

Village Nursery School Cooperative was established in 1953 and has served families for 70 years. It is a parent cooperative preschool where families share in running the program and take turns assisting the professional teaching staff. Parents work one morning per week, attend monthly school meetings, and complete maintenance hours. The school is licensed through the State of California Department of Social Services.

No potty training required, but children are encouraged to sit on the potty at school and begin the potty training process. All students and participating parents must have all state required immunizations up-to-date. Parents must have the COVID-19 vaccine to do work days at the school. The school admits students of any race, color, national origin, ethnic origin, or religion.
