Westlake School for the Performing Arts offers classes in dance, music, and theater, including classical ballet, pointe, character, and variation classes. Students can take Russian and Polynesian ethnic dance classes, Broadway musical theater classes, tap, jazz, hip hop, and combination classes of ballet n’ tap. The program also offers private classes in piano, voice, and musical theater.

Westlake School for the Performing Arts was founded in the summer of 1991 by Malu Rivera-Peoples and Karen Dycaico and is celebrating its 35th year in session. The Artistic Director is Malu Rivera Peoples. The program offers WSPA Summer Programs for dance and presents a weekend of performances with lavish productions at a year-end showcase. Its history includes a legacy of hard work, discipline, and putting your best foot forward, along with successful collaboration with the City of Daly City Parks and Recreation Department, and it is described as a unique and valuable addition to the community at large. Westlake School for the Performing Arts is a 13-time recipient of the Youth America Grand Prix Outstanding School Award and a recipient of the New York City Dance Alliance Outstanding School Award. The school describes itself as providing world-class training, performances, and competitions, and as more than a school, describing itself as a community where creativity, discipline, and connection flourish on and off the stage.
