Danville Little League offers baseball for youth players, including competitive baseball games during the regular and post-season. Players take part in a supervised program of competitive baseball games under the Rules and Regulations of Little League Baseball, Incorporated.
• Ages: 4–16 years old
• Schedule: Playing season begins with practices in February and ends for most players in June; Post-Season and All-Stars runs from June to late July or early August
Danville Little League was established in 1972 and operates as a fully chartered Little League within District 57 of the Western Region of Little League. It is open to all boys and girls between the ages of 4–16 who live within boundaries determined and approved by Little League Baseball. The league operates exclusively as a non-profit educational organization providing a supervised program of competitive baseball games. Its mission is to provide quality baseball experiences in a safe environment that balances integrity, respect, competition, fun, and fair play, with the molding of future citizens stated as more important than the attainment of exceptional athletic skill or winning games. The program states commitments to teaching fundamental skills, tactics, and strategies for baseball, preparing youth athletes for the next level of play, increasing skill knowledge with safe healthy techniques, and providing safe non threatening environments. It also states that winning games is secondary to molding exceptional citizens and that it promotes and develops core values such as respect, teamwork, sportsmanship, courage, effort, and commitment.
Danville Little League is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors elected at annual General Election Board Meetings. The leadership team includes President Jim Rossi; VP, Conduct & Coaching Chris Brown; VP, Baseball Operations (Equipment) Nate King; VP, Baseball Operations (Technology) Justin Swigert; VP, League Compliance Mark Kennedy; VP, Field Operations Erik Peterson; VP, Partnerships/Secretary Greg Shelley; Safety Director Nolan Arieta; Player Agent Brent Johnson; Treasurer Stu Bessieres; and Umpire-in-Chief Chris Warren. The league establishes standards of participation for volunteers, board members, coaches, officials, athletes, and spectators, and encourages a positive atmosphere by showing support and patience for all athletes and volunteers. It also states that it creates a culture in which volunteers, coaches, parents, officials, and athletes work together to achieve the league’s mission.
Danville Little League captured the 11U Northern California State Championship in 2023 and the Intermediate Little League World Series Championship in 2022.
