SonRise Equestrian Foundation offers therapeutic riding, personalized riding, horsemanship, grooming, bonding, ranch chores, horseback riding, therapeutic horseback riding, horse science, and arts & crafts. Each “In the Saddle” session pairs one child with an instructor and a horse for 45 minutes, and the “In the Saddle Jr” program is a 30-minute program that includes horsemanship, grooming, bonding, and riding. Team Equine includes ranch chores, therapeutic horseback riding, horse science, and arts & crafts with caring adult mentors, and the Traveling Tails program brings miniature horses to off-site locations.

SonRise Equestrian Foundation is a non-profit organization guided by Christian-based values and based on Christian morals and values. While SonRise is not a religious organization, no participant is ever denied services based on religious or ethnic basis. SonRise welcomes any child with special needs up to 18 years old and serves a broad spectrum of children with social, emotional, and physical needs. SonRise offers four weekly programs free of charge to children with special needs, up to 18 years old. SonRise Equestrian Foundation was founded in December 2005 by Melanie Buerke Bartoletti, and the organization notes “CELEBRATING 20+ YEARS OF SONRISE.” Miniature horses from the Traveling Tails program visit hospitals, hospice homes, and special needs schools and camps.
