About
Pamela Trokanski Dance Workshop offers classes in Contemporary, Ballet, Pointe, Jazz, Jazz / Dance for Musical Theatre, Modern, K-pop, Belly Dance, Dance Improvisation, and Absolute Beginning Dance. The program also includes Intro to Dance (Age 4+), Pre-Ballet, Pre-contemporary, Dance for Parkinson’s, Pilates, Zentangle, Second Wind, Second Wind Chair Dance, Vocal Playground, and Vocal Somatics. The youngest dancers in the program are in their 4's and the oldest participants are in their 90's, and the studio is not a competition studio.
• Ages: 4–18 years old
• Schedule: Office hours Monday–Friday 8:30 am–noon and 3:00 pm–8:00 pm, and Saturdays 8:30 am–1:30 pm; Absolute Beginning Dance runs over 8 weeks
Intro to Dance (Age 4+) is for children who must be potty trained and able to separate easily from parents. Absolute Beginning Dance is offered in a survey-class format, covering the basics of ballet, jazz, and contemporary over the course of 8 weeks. The faculty is comprised of teachers who possess professional experience in teaching, performance, and choreography, and they offer a multilingual approach to training with classes in multiple dance styles as well as a diverse range of art forms in addition to dance.
The program’s mission states that it believes in dance as an important tool for helping people to become their best selves, with movement affecting bodies, brains, and sense of being, and supporting confidence, joy, and connections with the physical self, creative possibilities, and community. This season, 2025–2026, Pamela Trokanski Dance Workshop is celebrating 41 years of dance in Davis. Dance for Parkinson’s invites the Parkinson’s community to a stimulating, enjoyable, non-threatening, social environment. Second Wind classes are funded by Pamela Trokanski Dance Theatre (PTDT) and The Third Stage and are free to seniors 65 and older, and Second Wind Chair Dance is free for adults 65 and older, funded by Pamela Trokanski Dance Theatre.
