About

adidas Tennis Youth Camp at UC Davis includes individual skill development through on-court training, drills, and match play. Campers take part in singles and doubles matches, camp games, match situation drills, and off court and evening activities. Instruction covers forehands, backhands, lobs, top spin, drop-shots, serves, grip technique, court movements, decision-making skills, rules and scoring, along with stretching and warm-up, and campers also have time to swim.

• Ages: 5–12 years old
• Schedule: Half Day Camp, Monday–Friday, with sessions offered July 20–24, 2026 and July 27–31, 2026
• Price: Half Day: $245 (9am–12pm)

The camp is led by Camp Director Erik (Eric) Steidlmayer, the UC Davis Men's Head Tennis Coach. He has run tennis camps since graduating from UC San Diego in 1996, where he played three years on the Triton tennis team and was named the team’s Most Valuable Player. He spent 14 seasons transforming UC San Diego into a Division II national power and guided the team to 12 consecutive NCAA postseason appearances from 2000–11, including a national semifinals appearance in 2007. He was hired as UC Davis men’s tennis head coach in July 2012, and in 2015 he was named the Big West Conference Coach of the Year.

Campers are grouped by age and ability level, with low camper-to-coach ratios, and are assessed during the first session to place them accordingly. Campers have the opportunity to work with college and/or high school coaches and college players throughout the week. Each camper receives an adidas Tennis Camp T-shirt, and team discounts are available. The camp is part of eCamps Sports Network, which has developed over 100,000 young athletes at its camps nationwide since 2001. Drugs, alcohol, and tobacco products are strictly forbidden and result in immediate dismissal from camp without refund. Families are asked to make sure campers bring all necessary tennis equipment, a refillable water bottle, and a snack.
