About
adidas Tennis Youth Camp at UC Davis offers individualized tennis training that includes drills, matches, and camp games. Campers take part in singles and doubles matches, on-court training, and match play, along with match situation drills. Instruction covers technical and tactical skills such as forehand and backhand instruction, lobs, top spin, drop-shots, serves, grip technique, court movements, rules and scoring instruction, as well as stretching and warm-up, and there is also a fun off court evening activity.

• Schedule: Half Day Camp runs Monday–Friday in 4–6 day sessions, with Session 1 from July 20–24, 2026 and Session 2 from July 27–31, 2026, 9:00am–12:00pm
• Price: Half Day: $245 (9am–12pm)
For the Half Day Camp, campers are asked to bring all necessary tennis equipment, a refillable water bottle, and a snack. Campers are assessed on ability during the first session and grouped according to age and abilities, with groups based on age and ability level and low camper-to-coach ratios. The camp focuses on individual skill development while incorporating drills and matches to emphasize teamwork and fun, and each camper receives an adidas Tennis Camp T-shirt. Campers have the opportunity to work with college and/or high school coaches and college players all week long, and staff supervises campers for the entire duration of the camp.
The camp is part of the adidas top rated Tennis Camps, which were developed to provide athletes an opportunity to become better tennis players in a fun, positive atmosphere. The company states, “We believe in personal interaction with each camper and are committed to the development of each campers skill set and goals,” and lists core values of EXCELLENCE, FUN, IMPROVEMENT, SAFETY, and SPORTSMANSHIP. Since 2001, eCamps Sports Network has developed over 100,000 young athletes at their camps nationwide.
Camp Director Eric Steidlmayer is the UC Davis Men’s Head Tennis Coach and has run tennis camps since graduating from UC San Diego in 1996. He spent 14 seasons transforming his alma mater, UC San Diego, into a Division II national power and guided the Tritons to 12 consecutive NCAA postseason appearances from 2000–11, including a national semifinals appearance in 2007. He previously served as an assistant coach with the Aggies for two seasons from 1997–98, returned to UC San Diego in 1999, and was hired as UC Davis men’s head tennis coach in July 2012; the 2022–23 season is his 11th at the helm of the UC Davis men’s tennis program. Before arriving in Davis, he posted a record of 182–108 over 14 years at UC San Diego, a .628 winning percentage, and left as the winningest men’s tennis coach in that program’s history. He graduated from UC San Diego in 1996 after playing three years on the Triton tennis team, was named the Tritons’ Most Valuable Player after helping them earn a berth in the 1996 Division III National Championships, and was named the Big West Conference Coach of the Year in 2015.
