Yolo Basin Foundation Environmental Education Programs include wetland tours, bat tours, K–12 education programs, family activities, wildlife viewing, birdwatching, hunting, and other nature education programs. The programs engage participants in learning about 16,600 acres of restored wetlands that support fish, migratory birds, raptors, invertebrates, reptiles, and bats. The programs are described as providing endless opportunities to experience the outdoors and are located a short distance from Davis and downtown Sacramento.

Yolo Basin Foundation was founded in 1990 as a community-based organization to establish the Yolo Bypass Wildlife Area. Its mission is expanding public appreciation and stewardship of wetlands and wildlife in the Yolo Basin through education and innovative partnerships. Yolo Basin Foundation offers nationally recognized education programs and focuses on protecting and restoring resilient landscapes, providing inclusive and equitable access to nature, mobilizing to fight climate change, and protecting birds and wildlife. It has a unique partnership with the California Department of Fish & Wildlife that makes the Yolo Bypass Wildlife Area accessible to thousands of people each year and forms collaborative partnerships with local farmers and private wetland managers, conservation organizations, elected officials at all levels, and local, state, and federal government agencies related to wildlife, flood control, and water quality.
