About
DPIE After School and Summer Enrichment Programs offers activities that include archery, theater and acting, art, dance, soccer, coding, book club, typing, Art Integration: Blending STEM and Creativity, Artist Workshop, and CineCraft Kids. The archery class includes a class tournament on the last day, with medals awarded to the top six finishers in the class. Art Integration: Blending STEM and Creativity combines science, technology, engineering, and math with creativity and includes indoor and outdoor activities.

• Schedule: Summer options include 4-day, 5-day, and 10-day enrichment courses, with examples such as archery meeting Monday to Friday from June 5–21 (no class June 19) in 70-minute sessions, a Broadway-themed theater class meeting Monday to Friday from June 5–26 (no class June 19) in 3-hour classes, and art and film classes offered in 10-day blocks. Archery runs for 15 days with 12 classes of 70 minutes each; the Broadway-themed class runs for 15 classes of 3 hours each; Art Integration runs for 10 classes of 90 minutes; Artist Workshop runs for 10 classes of 2 hours; CineCraft Kids runs for 10 days.

The 2024 Elementary Summer Academy is offered in person, and enrichment courses are open to students from all school districts, with grades in course descriptions based on the 2024–2025 school year. DUSD provides breakfast and lunch for all students in the 2024 Elementary Summer Academy. Courses are structured so families can create a unique day by combining different enrichment options, and there are 4-day, 5-day, and 10-day course lengths during the summer for students in Kindergarten to 5th grade.
The archery class is taught by Mr. Eric Lamonica, a teacher at Fallon Middle School, and the Artist Workshop is taught by Mr. Bill Carmel, also a teacher at Fallon Middle School. Are You Ready for Broadway? Peter Pan and the Secret of Neverland! includes performances on the last two days of the class. Art Integration: Blending STEM and Creativity is held in room A1, and archery uses the gym. DPIE offers a Class Management App on Google and Apple platforms where families can see all their students’ enrolled classes and log in with their Active details.
The leadership team includes Executive Director Gary Leach, Program & Marketing Director Angela Clifford, Board Member Michael McCorriston, Program Coordinator Kristen Burtch, and Administrative Assistant Neha Jain. Angela Clifford has experience from a marketing career in finance and asset management in London and Sydney, Australia. Gary Leach has a background in finance, accounting, and business development, and has been married for over 45 years. Neha Jain has a master’s degree in marketing and over seven years of professional experience in administration, accounts, operations, and business development across multiple industries, including BPO, service and entertainment, and real estate.
Board Member Michael McCorriston was first elected to the Dublin City Council in November 2020, served as Vice Mayor in 2021, and as Mayor in 2024, and he and his wife have lived in Dublin for more than 30 years. His community roles have included service on multiple local and regional boards and committees, such as the Alameda County Housing Authority Board of Directors, Alameda County Measure A Oversight Committee, Livermore Amador Valley Transit Authority Board of Directors, Alameda County Transportation Committee, and several water liaison committees, as well as volunteering for the Tri-Valley Haven food pantry and membership in the Dublin Rotary.
