The Playful Piano Studio offers online piano lessons for adults, including modern, engaging lessons for the older beginner. The program includes adult piano lessons, shared piano lessons for parents and children, and instruction in composition, arranging, accompaniment, and improvisation. Lessons use a playing-based, modern approach where students play great-sounding music from their first lessons, with music selected to be satisfying for older students rather than traditional beginner songs like “Mary Had a Little Lamb.”
All lessons and classes are taught by Linda Bernardi, who is trained in the Simply Music piano method and has been teaching piano for more than twelve years, after starting piano lessons at the age of five. The studio’s mission is to cultivate a life-long love of music and create a musical community where learning music is engaging, rewarding, and fun, with values that include personal growth, learning, excellence, positivity, and creativity. The program focuses on students becoming well-rounded, competent, confident, and self-reliant musicians, with instruction that includes musical fluency and theory along with creative skills such as composition, arranging, accompaniment, and improvisation.
