About
Robolabs is a competitive robotics and innovation program where students build, code, and compete using platforms such as VEX Robotics, VEX VRC, VEX IQ, and FTC programs. Participants work in a well-equipped lab on designing and building robots as part of a student-centered community with programs taught and facilitated by experts.
• Ages: 6–18 years old
• Schedule: 1.5-hour class blocks with weekly fixed class times for grades 1–6 and flexible attendance during operating hours for grades 7–12
Robolabs describes its mission as “To inspire, ignite and empower every young mind for a better future through robotics, STEM, and innovation” and “To be a positive driving force in the journey of a whole new generation of roboticists, STEM enthusiasts, and innovators.” It is described as the Bay Area’s premier competitive robotics and innovation academy, offering inclusive robotics, STEM, and innovation through its Robolabs Innovation Academy and a focus on “Robotics for all.”
The leadership team includes Sasi (CEO & Founder), Arya (CTO & Co-Founder), Iniyan (COO), Alex (CMO & Fremont Director), Randy (Manager), Shreya (Innovation Academy), Sean (Robotics Coach - Dublin), Tanvi (Innovation Academy), Muji (Robotics Coach - Dublin), Alex (Robotics Coach - Fremont), Shaheer (Robotics Coach - Dublin), Dasha (College Consultant), Saketh (Robotics Programmer), Aditya (Robotics Coach - Fremont), Veer (Robotics Coach - Dublin), and Brian (Robotics Coach - Fremont). CEO and founder Sasikumar Allidurai has over 25 years of industrial experience in automation, robotics, and competition, has been teaching, coaching, and mentoring VEX Robotics for close to a decade, and holds a Bachelor of Engineering, a Master of Engineering, and an MBA. CTO and co-founder Arya Sasikumar was ranked 2nd in the world for Robot Skills in 2015 in Vex IQ, won the 2016 Vex IQ California State Championship, was ranked in the top 4% at Vex IQ Worlds, and is a student in UC Berkeley’s Management, Entrepreneurship, and Technology (M.E.T.) Program. Rodrigo Alexander Colin (Alex) has been mentoring students in robotics for 6 years and holds a Bachelor of Science and a Certificate in Entrepreneurship and Technology from UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business.
One testimonial from Rekha and Rajanikanth states that their daughter has been with Dublin Robotics Club/Robolabs for a number of years, that her technical skillset and understanding of robotics have “massively” improved, and that the staff are extremely friendly and always ready to support kids in developing competitive robots. Saravanan and Akhila share that both of their kids started as team members and grew to team captains, that they saw their children’s self-confidence significantly improve, and that their elder son’s team won the VEX VRC State Championship while their younger son’s team won multiple VEX awards and tournaments. Shailesh notes a significant increase in his son’s interest in robotics since joining Robolabs and credits Sasi and Alex’s mentoring, along with a well-equipped lab and enthusiastic coaches, with helping the team stand out in championships and qualify further. Prachi reports that a 9th grader and a 6th grader in the family made a lot of progress in VRC and IQ competitive robots within a few weeks and describes the facility and coaches as doing a fantastic job of nurturing curiosity in engineering and enabling hands-on experience in designing and building robots. Sabeeh states that both kids have been attending Dublin Robotics Club/Robolabs for more than 5 years, that the team is patient and helpful, and that the kids enjoy having independence to build robots with their team and participate in multiple competitions. Metta shares that two daughters started in summer camp and continued with weekly weekend classes, that both enjoy the challenging and interesting learning, and that they look forward to class every weekend and do not want to leave when class time ends.
