About
Hope Horizon East Palo Alto offers tutoring, homework help, and enrichment in its Academic Year Program, with one-on-one reading support for TK–3 students. It also offers robotics for Grades 1–12, including the FIRST LEGO League pathway for grades 1–8 and the high school season from September to April. Camp Hope Horizon includes academics, field trips, and STEM during six summer weeks, and it offers Open Door Scholarships for high school and college students.
Programs
- Academic Year Program — TK–8 · Mon–Thu, 2:30–6:30 · Tutoring, homework help, and enrichment for TK–8 students, with one-on-one reading support in TK–3.
- Robotics — Grades 1–12 · High school season Sept–April; FIRST LEGO League starts in October for grades 1–8 · East Palo Alto's competition robotics team and elementary and middle school robotics pathway. Real STEM, real teamwork, a path to tech careers.
- Camp Hope Horizon — Incoming 1st–8th · 6 summer weeks · Academics, field trips, and STEM all summer. $250 for the full session, scholarships available.
- Open Door Scholarships — High school & college · Scholarships and mentorship that help students get to college and come back to lift the next ones up.
- Spiritual Life — TK–12 · Optional 1:1 mentorship with caring adult mentors who walk with students through both struggles and celebrations.

About the provider
Hope Horizon East Palo Alto started in 1984 as Bayshore Christian Ministries and was renamed Hope Horizon East Palo Alto in 2022. The mission statement is “Hope and a future for East Palo Alto's youth.” The organization serves East Palo Alto and Belle Haven and mentions community gatherings, volunteer mornings, family nights, church partner events, and volunteer opportunities.
Families of every background and belief are welcome. Faith is offered, never required. Our tutoring, robotics, and camp are open to every family.
