El Cajon AYSO - Region 168 is part of the American Youth Soccer Organization and offers soccer under the AYSO Core Program, AYSO EPIC, and AYSO PLAY! It also runs a Thanksgiving Tournament and follows AYSO principles such as Balanced Teams, Player Development, Everyone Plays, Positive Coaching, Open Registration, and Kids Zone.
The mission of El Cajon AYSO - Region 168, through AYSO, is “Providing world class youth soccer programs that enrich children's lives.” The region is led locally under the broader leadership of Michael Karon, President of AYSO. Michael Karon received the Stack Leadership Award from Stack Sports for his impact in the world of sports volunteering. Through AYSO, the organization is involved in partnerships that include work with Chicago Public Schools to enhance youth sports programming for fifth through eighth grade, a partnership with the US Center for Mental Health & Sport focused on player and volunteer wellness, a partnership with Northland Sports Alliance to expand soccer programming in Kansas City, and a partnership with BEEUP as the Official Fruit Snack Partner for the 2025–2026 season.
