About
The State Preschool Program offers a play-oriented curriculum based on an integrated philosophy where respect for the child, positive guidance, and the development of self-esteem are important values. Early educational activities are planned based on the emerging skills of each child, and the curriculum is prepared and implemented by trained and caring teachers. The program focuses on school readiness skills through both 3-hour and 8-hour program options.
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, with 3-hour sessions from 8:00 am–11:00 am and 12:30 pm–3:30 pm, and an 8:00 am–5:00 pm option at Bears Child Development Center (CCTR)
The State Preschool Program is offered at Bears Child Development Center (CCTR), Kids R Us State Preschool, Little Kings State Preschool, Little Roadrunners State Preschool, Little Sneakers State Preschool, Little Tigers State Preschool, Little Vikings State Preschool, Room To Grow State Preschool, and Kids R Us III Preschool. The program offers opportunities for presentations, trainings, and parent-teacher conferences, and encourages parents to participate in the preschool program. The mission of the program states that it provides a safe and nurturing environment that promotes the physical, social-emotional, cognitive, and creative development of young children, and that every child is treated as a unique individual with kindness, love, and respect, with support for each child’s primary language and culture. The Imperial County Office of Education prohibits discrimination, harassment, intimidation, and bullying based on specified actual or perceived characteristics and notes that it is an official SAT Testing Center.
The leadership team includes J. Todd Finnell, Ed.D., County Superintendent of Schools; Claudia Montano, Administrator of Student Services in the Student Services Division and Title IX/Cal. Code of Regs. Title 5 Compliance Officer for Students; and Martha Garcia, Senior Director of Human Resources and Title IX/Cal. Code of Regs. Title 5 Compliance Officer for Employees.
