Golestan Summer Camp is a bilingual Persian and English language program, and all participants should be open to exposure to the Persian language. Campers do not need any prior Persian language exposure, and bilingual English and Persian instruction is described as both challenging for Persian speakers and an introduction for new speakers. The program’s guiding values are Kindness, Thoughtfulness and Courage, which are threaded into all students’ experiences and activities, and its motto is “We Are Kind. We Are Thoughtful. We Are Courageous.” Golestan Education states that it partners with children, families and educators to create joyful learning environments that are collaborative, grounding and connected to the natural world, and that it aims to create a community of kind, thoughtful, and courageous learners who will embrace diversity and steward the earth for future generations. Golestan Kids admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin and does not discriminate on that basis in its policies and programs. The refund policy for the camp is a 50% refund if canceled 30 days or more before the first day of camp, with no refund for cancellations with less than 30 days’ notice. Golestan has been selected by the Ashoka Foundation as a Changemaker School and is a member of the National COVID-19 Outdoor Learning Initiative. The Colab is described as a pro-bono consultancy that collaborates with local and global educators and community organizations to create their ideal learning environment for children.
