About
St. John the Baptist School Preschool is part of St. John the Baptist School, a Catholic school that includes preschool through 8th grade and enrolls about 200 students. The preschool program welcomes children from 2 years to 3 years and 11 months and is currently enrolling new students. New students’ registration is year-round, depending on the needs of the child, and applicant families complete the Preschool Enrollment Packet, which is available via email or in the front office.
• Ages: 2–3 years old
St. John the Baptist School Preschool is accredited through the Western Catholic Educational Association (WCEA) and the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). The school provides a faith-filled education by studying the Catholic faith as well as other faiths that impact the students. All grade levels at the school work on service projects for the school, the community, and the world. The administration makes all registration decisions in the best interest of the children, and siblings of older TK–8 continuing students in good financial standing receive top priority for enrollment. When the preschool reaches capacity, a waiting list is created for students who meet the application criteria and have no outstanding balances, and priority on this list is set by the administrative leadership and updated throughout the year with spring registration. The leadership team includes Principal Dina Trombettas, Preschool Director Anjali Jain, Extended Care Director and Junior Kindergarten Aide Bertha Cooke, Technology Director Andy Gutierrez, and Pastor Fr. Thuong Nyugen of St. John the Baptist Parish. The school notes an involved community of parents who volunteer in many activities and fundraising, and the Parent Teacher Group and School Board serve as advisory boards that support the administration and the school.
