The mission of Dorris Dann Kids Campus Youth Development Programs is to foster the social, emotional, and mental well-being of children and youth. Instructional Aides and Program Mentors are highly qualified individuals trained to work with youth and must undergo a thorough background check, pass a proficiency test, tuberculosis testing, and abuse training before working with youth, and College Corps Fellows must undergo a thorough background check, tuberculosis testing, and abuse training prior to working with youth. The program partners with the El Monte City School District for after-school education and enrichment programming and serves as a liaison to youth organizations including Girl Scouts, Techbridge Girls, and Leader in Me, and is a partner of the Cal Poly Pomona College Corps Fellows program.

Youth Development Programs were established in 1989, and in 2006, grants and donations enabled the construction of the 18,000 square foot Kids Campus Youth Center, which includes a middle school-sized gymnasium, a 1,340 square foot tutoring and learning arena, a computer lab, an art studio, and six classrooms. Our Saviour Center, which began its journey in 1985 with a food pantry operating from a rented storefront and serves at-risk low-income families in El Monte, was created by the Church of Our Saviour in San Gabriel to reach out to the community and is honored as a 2026 California Nonprofit of the Year by Assemblymember Mike Fong (49th District). Testimonials from staff and College Corps Fellows describe Kids Campus as a place where kids can express themselves to friends and staff, and describe their time at Our Saviour Center as a lesson in serving a diverse community with empathy and understanding.
