About
Sportball offers a method-backed sports program for children that includes Multi-Sport, Soccer, Basketball, Tennis, Hockey, Volleyball, T-Ball, Golf, and Football. The program teaches the fundamentals of movement through fun and engaging activities. Sportball activities focus on making friends, learning new skills, and having a good time, and the program states that nobody is left in a corner or on a bench. The hockey option is offered without skates and does not require ice.
• Ages: 1–12 years old
Sportball’s mission is to spark a lifelong passion for staying active and to bring out the confidence, competence, and motivation kids need to stay active for a lifetime. Programs are organized by age: 16 months–3 years (The ABCs of Sport), 3–5 years (The FUNdamentals), 6–8 years (Skills & Team Play), and 9–12 years (Learning to Lead). The program is offered across Canada and the USA and gives kids a community outside of school where they can develop new hobbies.
Parents describe enjoying the Multi-Sport option for very young children and note that their kids have had many chances to try different sports and learn new skills. Several parents mention specific coaches by name and describe them as kind, professional, friendly, and able to keep kids engaged. Parents also report that their children feel empowered and confident and that some kids ask to sign up for additional seasons.
