About
VIBE Volleyball Lab offers volleyball lessons, volleyball classes, performance training, and position specific camps, along with college counseling for athletes. The program also hosts events and rentals, birthday parties, team celebrations, photo shoots, and private events, using both indoor volleyball courts and a separate Performance Lab for performance training that is not on the volleyball court.
• Ages: 5–18 years old
• Schedule: Best hours to reach staff are Monday–Thursday 10am–7pm, Friday 10am–5pm, and Saturday and Sunday 9am–1pm; single sessions and multi-session packs are available with expiration periods ranging from 60 days to 12 months after purchase
• Price: Private lessons kick off at $110
The facility is described as Southern California’s largest volleyball and performance lab and is a training facility rather than a team or club, with individualized volleyball and performance training, specialized training by position, strength, speed and performance training, and college prep and recruiting guidance. Small group training is available for K–12th graders and adults, with coed classes open to all positions, and siblings are allowed to share packages. During training sessions, the space operates as an athlete-only facility, with exceptions that allow parents of athletes 11 or under to stay; parents are welcome to come in to check in their athlete, talk with the coach if needed, and then return for pick-up, but camp chairs or picnic setups are not allowed.
The training staff includes former college coaches, experienced club coaches, NCAA All-Americans, and former U.S. National Team members. The leadership and support team includes General Manager Kelsey Donohoe, Director of Performance Emily Nader, VIBE Mascot and Chief Vibes Officer Ripp, Trainer and Front Desk Assistant Sam Hastings, and Videographer and Content Manager Jameson McKibbin. Emily Nader holds credentials as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), ACSM Certified Personal Trainer (ACSM-CPT), and Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach (NBC-HWC), and studied at Penn State University with an academic background in Kinesiology, Movement Science, Biology, Sports Administration, and Biomechanics. Sam Hastings has been recognized as WCC Libero of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year, and a four-time WCC Defensive Player of the Week.
VIBE reports 10 years of athlete results, and Ripp has served as Chief Vibes Officer for 7 years. The program states that it has become a home base, community, safe space, and hype squad for athletes and families from every background, school, and club. Its stated mission is to provide elite, individualized volleyball and performance training in an environment that is fun and focused, with a goal of helping every athlete become the strongest, smartest, most confident version of themselves through personalized training, a training space where athletes can train and grow regardless of school or club, and by developing lifelong habits such as discipline and resilience while raising the standard for volleyball and performance training in Southern California.
Parent and athlete testimonials describe VIBE Volleyball Lab as “the most positive atmosphere and place I could have imagined,” and note that one athlete’s game “has vastly improved” because of the instructors and the “vibe of a great place.” Other testimonials state that VIBE is “the perfect place to go to work on your volleyball skills,” that trainers are knowledgeable and make athletes “more versatile and competitive,” and that private lessons and training classes are used “all the time for keeping in shape and building strength” for 15- and 13-year-old athletes who “love coming to Vibe.”
