American Grappling Academy offers Kids Class for ages 6 to 16, plus Homeschool, Seasonal Open Mat for ages 13 and up, Tournament Focus, and System Focus. It also offers Adult Classes for ages 16 and up, First Responder, Active Military, and Veteran classes, and Open Mat/Tournament training.

About the provider
The leadership team includes No Gi Coach aka Big Shawn and Gi Coach aka Tall Shawn. Big Shawn has been grappling for over 20 years, and Tall Shawn has been on a journey of discovery for over 12 years. The mission statement says it is a welcoming Jiu jitsu academy in Elk Grove for kids, adults, and families, and its motto is: Train Hard. Support each other. Grow together. Big Shawn won blue belt adult gold at Worlds and bronze at adult purple belt Worlds, and he is an active competitor in IBJJF and Fight to Win. Shawn received his Black Belt under Mike Uhlinger, and Tall Shawn received his black belt from Mike Uhlinger in 2019.
No contract. Unlimited membership. No promotion fees. No initiation fees. No mandatory school uniforms. Friends should be within the appropriate age group for the kids program. No previous Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu experience is required.
