Children also spend time playing in an enhanced backyard playground, riding bikes, and enjoying sandbox play. The program uses creative, theme-based pre-K lesson plans based on the High Scope Curriculum in a rich, play-based learning environment with a structured routine.

The program offers home-cooked meals featuring organic produce from their garden, with nutritious family-style meals provided through the Beanstalk Food Program.
The staff is certified in CPR, first aid, and mandated reporter training, and staff members have either met or exceeded Early Childhood Education requirements while continuing their education to stay current in best practices for childcare services. The owner and founder has led the preschool since 1990, bringing over 30 years of dedication and numerous certifications in early childhood education, and has been married for 25 years with two sons and a grandchild. Butterfly Garden Preschool & Childcare has been serving families since 1990 and has over three decades of experience.
The program holds national accreditation for childcare. It has been recognized in publications such as the Rosemont News (May 1998), the Elk Grove Citizen (February 26, 2003), and the Sacramento Bee “Home & Garden” section on October 11, 2008.
