IR Academy of Soccer offers high-quality soccer training that focuses on soccer skills through both introductory soccer programs and an introductory competitive soccer program. Players take part in station-based modules with IR Academy coaches as part of this development-first, player-centric approach that builds community and pride. The club includes girls and boys teams and is recognized as Elk Grove's National Premier League club, with 75 alumni playing collegiately or professionally.

In 2007, the girls competitive soccer club Rage was launched in Elk Grove, and in 2009 leaders from Rage and the Inter boys competitive soccer club in Sacramento agreed to a merger and became Inter Rage; in the years following, Inter Rage became IR Academy. IR Academy of Soccer Development is a 501(c)(3) non-profit and a member of both US Club Soccer and the Norcal Premier Soccer League. The organization states that it is community based and committed to the individual player's development, with a mission that emphasizes training appropriate for each player's age and ability level regardless of financial background, and a primary goal of developing players from diverse backgrounds into motivated performers while instilling awareness that success can be achieved with hard work, discipline, and dedication. The club describes itself as a development-first club offering player-centric experiences that build community and pride, and notes that it operates the IR Academy Junior Academy and IR Academy Little's Program, which are introductory soccer and introductory competitive soccer programs for young girls and boys, including those born in 2018 and 2019, where children can develop foundational soccer skills and make new friends in a fun, stress-free environment that focuses on the joy of soccer.
