North Coast Dance

North Coast Dance offers Mini Movers with guided songs, rhythm and music games, dance games, movement and coordination challenges, free dance, and play time with props. It also offers Creative Movement, Kinder Ballet, Intro to Ballet, Ballet Level 1-6, Beginning Jazz, Junior Jazz/Tiny Tap, Intermediate Jazz, Teen/Adult Ballet, Adult/Senior Cardio/Fitness Dance, Adult/Senior Ballet & Stretch, and Adult Tap.

Programs

• Mini Movers — 18 months – 3 years · Guided songs, rhythm and music games, dance games, movement/coordination challenges, free dance and play time with props. Grown-ups are required to stay and encouraged to actively participate.
• Creative Movement — 3 – 4 · Get your young dancer moving to music as they explore rhythm, coordination, music and spatial awareness.
• Kinder Ballet — 5 – 6 · A Ballet style dance class designed to introduce kindergarten aged dancers to the joy of movement with music and basic Ballet steps.
• Intro to Ballet — 7 – 8 · Prepares students to successfully transfer into level 1; includes basic barre work, body alignment, positions of feet and arms, and simple choreography.
• Ballet Level 1-6 — Six-level ballet syllabus; review classes are given during the spring semester of each academic year with feedback sent to families for leveling.
• Beginning Jazz — 8+ · Covers basic movement and technique of jazz, with a focus on flexibility, turns, jumps, and basic choreography.
• Junior Jazz/Tiny Tap — 5 – 7 · Teaches the basics of tap technique, jazz technique, musicality, and class etiquette.
• Intermediate Jazz — For dancers with a basic understanding of core jazz movement and technique who can catch on to new skills quickly.
• Teen/Adult Ballet — 13+ · Welcoming ballet class for teens and adults of all experience levels.
• Adult/Senior Cardio/Fitness Dance — 13+ · Dance-inspired fitness class for adults and seniors of all mobility levels.
• Adult/Senior Ballet & Stretch — 13+ · Combines ballet fundamentals with stretching and conditioning.
• Adult Tap — 13+ · A fun and energetic class for adults looking to learn or rediscover tap dance.

About the provider

North Coast Dance's mission is to provide quality training, education, and performance in dance for the North Coast. The Outreach Ensemble performs at schools, community events, senior facilities, and other local venues.

Company & Apprentice is by audition only. There are no auditions for the Holiday Dances; choreography is taught in class. Nutcracker auditions are by level. Registration fee is $35 for all classes except Teen/Adult/Senior classes, Mini Movers, Outreach Ensemble, and Jazz Ensemble. Limited need-based scholarships are available. Private lessons are available. Performance fees apply to productions.
