Black Sheep Jiu Jitsu Academy

Black Sheep Jiu Jitsu Academy offers Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and self defense instruction for kids, teens, and adults of all levels. Classes include kid and adult sessions that are structured and use fast-paced drills and techniques. The academy describes its approach as blending strong fundamentals with new-school technique, using competition-tested techniques.

Black Sheep Jiu Jitsu Academy is owned and operated by Ralph Gracie black belt and world champion Woolf Barnato and pan am and world medalist Danny Speirn. Instructors include Woolf Barnato, a black belt under Ralph Gracie and Kurt Osiander with IBJJF World and Pan Am titles; Danny Speirn, a black belt under Woolf and medalist at IBJJF Worlds and Pan Ams; Cole Franson, a former world champion and accomplished Brazilian Jiu Jitsu competitor; David Strand, a multi-time IBJJF champion; Niko Duffy, who committed to training as a full-time athlete at 18 years old and traveled across the country to compete; and Lauren Sacks, who has medaled at tournaments including IBJJF Pans, American Nationals, and No-Gi Worlds. The academy describes its NoGi program as led by a former world champion and its Monday and Wednesday evening Fundamentals Program as led by a multi-time IBJJF champion. The program states that it offers world class Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and self defense instruction in a friendly, comfortable environment and describes itself as Marin County’s best Brazilian Jiu Jitsu academy.
