Black Sheep Jiu Jitsu Academy

Black Sheep Jiu Jitsu Academy offers Brazilian Jiu Jitsu classes that include self defense and a NoGI program. Classes use techniques that are competition tested and described as proven effective. The program includes kid and adult classes that are fun, structured, and filled with fast-paced drills and techniques, with high energy and fast paced classes and a detail oriented, beginner friendly teaching style.

Black Sheep Jiu Jitsu Academy states that it offers world class Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and self defense instruction to kids, teens and adults of all levels, in a friendly, comfortable environment. The academy is owned and operated by Ralph Gracie black belt and world champion Woolf Barnato and pan am and world medalist Danny Speirn. The NoGI program is led by a former world champion, and the Monday and Wednesday evening Fundamentals Program is led by a multi-time IBJJF Champion. The coaching staff includes Woolf Barnato, a black belt under Ralph Gracie and Kurt Osiander and a decorated competitor with IBJJF World and Pan Am titles; Danny Speirn, a medalist at IBJJF Worlds and Pan Ams; Cole Franson, a former world champion and accomplished BJJ competitor; David Strand, a multi-time IBJJF Champion; and Lauren Sacks, who has medaled at IBJJF Pans, American Nationals, and No-Gi Worlds. The academy describes itself as having an open-minded, creative approach to Jiu Jitsu that blends strong fundamentals with new-school technique, and as Marin County’s best Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Academy.
