Hillbarn Theatre & Conservatory

Hillbarn Theatre & Conservatory presents live, award-winning theatre along with conservatory education programs. The program offers theatre education taught by Broadway and Regional Theatre professionals and educators. It operates in an intimate 179 seat theatre space.

Hillbarn Theatre & Conservatory is a not-for-profit theater led by Executive Artistic Director Steve Muterspaugh and Conservatory Director Sarah Jebian. Its mission states that it produces both classic and contemporary works and that its programming is driven by the founding ideal “To create theatre with the community, for the community.” The organization describes three guiding principles—quality, diversity and community—and states that its productions explore narratives that use its intimate space to blur the lines between the audience and the artists. Hillbarn Theatre acknowledges that it resides on the traditional land of the Ramaytush Ohlone people and honors the land and the people who have stewarded it throughout the generations.
