About

Hillbarn Conservatory offers school year programs that include activities such as Broadway intensives, stage combat, actors bootcamp, and tapping like Gene Kelly. The program also offers one-day workshops, masterclasses, and Summer Camps, along with outreach programs within the local community. Each school year program culminates in a performance where students share what they have worked on with friends and family.

• Schedule: Box office hours Tuesday–Friday, 11AM–3PM; open one hour before showtime

Hillbarn Conservatory provides top-tier theatre education taught by Broadway and Regional Theatre professionals and educators. One-day workshops and masterclasses are taught by professional teaching artists, and workshops are described as a way to try something new, dust off something old, or strengthen skills being developed. Hillbarn Theatre & Conservatory is a not-for-profit theater that creates live, award-winning theatre and conservatory education programs, using an intimate space that blurs the lines between the audience and the artists for a shared experience of empathy and education.

The Executive Artistic Director is Steve Muterspaugh, and the Conservatory Director is Sarah Jebian. The Conservatory contact is Skylar at [email protected]. Hillbarn Theatre & Conservatory states that its programs aim to provide students with new tools and experiences they can take with them on stage and in life, and it is committed to producing both classic and contemporary works while giving voice to a wide range of artists and visions. Its programming is driven by the founding ideal “To create theatre with the community, for the community,” and by three guiding principles: quality, diversity, and community. Hillbarn Theatre & Conservatory seeks to be an artistic home, offering productions and programs that it describes as making an essential contribution to the quality of life in the Bay Area, and it acknowledges that it resides on the traditional land of the Ramaytush Ohlone people and honors the land and its stewards with gratitude.
